About the NYSIA Open Source SIG

The New York Software Industry Association has started a special interest group on Free and Open Source Software.
The official SIG page gives more information:
Mission: To educate the NYSIA community about
the many available free / open source software
(FOSS) options for IT infrastructure and
application development.
In many ways the SIG parallels what I am trying to accomplish with this website. IT managers and developers don't only need advocacy. They also need and want concrete information about FOSS tools that are actually being used.
